Steroid Abuse
Anabolic steroids are Controlled Substances that are synthetic versions of the primary male hormone testosterone and can be injected, taken orally, or used as creams. These drugs are serious medications and are prescribed to treat different medical conditions that mostly result from the body's inability to produce the proper levels of natural testosterone. Symptoms can be common in patients with AIDS, cancer, and other testicular related issues. These medications are not designed to be abused for performance enhancement.
When these drugs are abused and not properly medically monitored they can create serious and severe long-term and sometimes irreversible health problems.
Some of these problems are;
- Lethargic conditions and injuries
- Damage to the adrenal glands causing a halt in natural testosterone production
- Premature heart attacks and /or strokes
- Masculinity in women
